Assist Hooks
Assist hooks can be used as a substitute for treble hooks on lures and for vertical jigging as well can be used for a variety of other fishing applications. When used in place of a treble hook on a lure, assist hooks help prevent fish from throwing your hook. The flexible assist cord helps eliminate that possibility, and the j-hook provides a secure hookset. We have 3 styles in several sizes to fit your needs:
- Single 2X strength silver hook with chartreuse wrapping, fluorescent white tensile flash, and heavy tan cord. Sizes from 1/0 to 5/0. Sold individually
- Two silver hooks with red wrapping and white cord. Sizes from 1/0 to 4/0. Sold in pairs (4 hooks total)
- Two black hooks with black wrapping, blue tensile flash, and white cord. Sizes from Size 11 to 20. Sold in 5 packs (10 hooks)
NOTE: sizes for the black/blue assist hook are backwards from conventional hook sizing. Here are the approximate equivalents:
- Size 20 –> similar hook size to #3/0
- Size 19 –> similar hook size to #2/0-3/0
- Size 18 –> similar hook size to #2/0
- Size 17 –> similar hook size to #1/0-2/0
- Size 16 –> similar hook size to #1/0
- Size 15 –> similar hook size to #1-1/0
- Size 13 –> similar hook size to #2
- Size 11 –> similar hook size to #4
